In the automotive industry, the production of components is a multifaceted process in which every decision affects the quality and efficiency of the entire supply chain. Engineers at Automotive Painting Partners manage production in a comprehensive way – from the initial specification to the delivery of the finished part to the customer. Managing the entire process from start to finish saves both time and costs for leading global automotive manufacturers. This article walks you through the key steps that transform a technical design into finished parts ready for serial production.
From Customer Specification to a Production-Ready Solution
The process at Automotive Painting Partners begins with a part specification provided by the customer – often from the development department of an OEM or a Tier 1 supplier. The specification includes requirements for functionality, material, and tolerances that the part must meet. The role of our engineers is to precisely plan and optimise the design so that it can be manufactured easily and reliably in serial production, while remaining compatible with automated manufacturing technologies. We consider material properties, weldability, readiness for surface treatment, and assembly interfaces.
Robotic Welding as the Foundation of Repeatable Quality
The next step is design for robotic welding. Automation and robotisation are now the standard for serial production of parts requiring high repeatability and minimal error rates. In cooperation with our subsidiary EAP, we design and operate our own automated production lines, enabling us to deliver robotic welding solutions tailored precisely to each project. Modern robotic systems ensure accurate and stable welds even for complex structures. As a result, we achieve consistent quality and optimise cycle times to remain efficient even in high-volume production.

KTL Coating – Protection That Determines Service Life
After welding, the process continues with one of the most technologically demanding stages – cathodic dip coating (KTL). This process is crucial for corrosion protection and long-term durability of the part. In the immersion KTL line, the component is coated using an electric field, ensuring uniform coverage even in hard-to-reach areas.
Traceability Is a Standard, Not an Extra
Alongside precision in surface treatment, we place strong emphasis on traceability and part marking. Identification is applied during production and allows each individual part to be tracked from raw material intake through to final shipment.
This is essential both for internal quality assurance and for customers in the automotive industry, where full traceability is a given.
A Direct Path to the Customer
Once the parts are coated and protected against corrosion, they move on to assembly and subassembly operations. By providing welding, surface treatment, and assembly within a single facility, we minimise logistical transfers and shorten lead times between operations. This continuity of processes enhances quality stability and significantly reduces the risk of errors.
The final stage is logistics and dispatch of finished parts. Components are consolidated at the Zvěřínek Logistics Centre, carefully packaged, and shipped directly to the customer – often via cross-docking or as direct deliveries to OEM partners. By managing the entire flow directly, we minimise handling, reduce costs, and shorten delivery times.
Manufacturing as a Whole: A System That Must Work
At Automotive Painting Partners, our focus is not only on delivering parts. We view the entire production chain as an interconnected system, where optimisation in one area brings benefits to the others. Precise planning, technological stability, and a strong focus on quality lead to results that meet the high standards of the automotive industry and help our partners succeed even in demanding serial programs.
