Why is KTL environmentally friendly?
KTL is a water-based electrochemical process in which metal parts are submerged in a bath of water-dilutable paint. Using electric current, a uniform and highly adhesive layer of paint is deposited on the surface of the component. This coating offers excellent corrosion protection and serves as an ideal primer for further painting.
Instead of traditional solvent-based coatings, more eco-friendly alternatives are used. Formulations with a minimal content of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Because the paint is applied through an electrochemical reaction, it settles only where needed. This eliminates material waste, overspray, and uneven coverage.
All operations are carried out in a closed system that allows for the recycling of both paint and water. The baths are continuously filtered, replenished, and monitored, minimizing waste. Compared to other coating methods, KTL offers a much smaller environmental footprint, consuming fewer raw materials and producing significantly less emissions and waste.
